Qualifiers for Physics Teaching Scholarships Named

Dr. Ester B. Ogena, Director of the Science Education Institute of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST-SEI), announces the names of the qualifiers for the Physics Teaching Scholarships.

Of the 16,416 examinees who belonged to the upper 5% of their graduating classes and took the DOST-SEI Undergraduate Scholarship Examination on January 19, 2003, sixty (60) qualified for the Physics Teaching Scholarships.

Each qualifier will be notified about the scholarship award. The awardees will enroll at the Philippine Normal University (PNU), Taft Ave., Manila, and are requested to report together with mother or father at PNU for the signing of the Scholarship Agreement. They should bring the following requirements: Original and Photocopy of Birth Certificate, Original Certificate of Good Moral Character, Original Form 138/Report Card, 4 pcs 1x1 Colored ID Picture, accompanying parent's 2003 Residence Certificate and notarization fee of P50.00.

Scholarship privileges include tuition fees per semester, monthly stipend of P3,450.00, book allowance of P1,500.00 per semester, allowance for PE and Military Science Uniform during the first year only, provision for a round trip transportation expense per year and group accident insurance.
