2005 Philippines World Space Week Celebration On-the-Spot Poster Making Contest

In celebration of the World Space Week on 04-10 October 2005, The Science Education Institute (SEI) in cooperation with the Philippines Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services (PAGASA) will conduct an On-the-spot Poster Making Contest on 04 October 2005, 8:30am at the 2nd Floor, Conference Room, PAGASA, Agham Road, Diliman, Quezon City.

The contest is open to high school students, from public ang private schools in metro manila. The maximum number of contestants is 25 and will be on a first-com first served basis. Immediate family members of SEI and PAGASA employees are not qualified to participate in the contest.

Contestants must be amateur artists and should bring the art materials thay they will use during the contest.. They can use any medium i.e., Craypas, Water Color, Poster Color. Illustration board, size 30” X 20” will be provided. Participants of the contest will be given two (2) hours to complete their work.

All entry posters will become properties of the organizing agencies. Judging will be on the same date and the decision of the judges is final. The posters will be judged according to the following criteria:

ORIGINALITY 40 %
RELEVANCE TO THE THEME 30 %
CREATIVITY 20 %
PRESENTATION 10 %

TOTAL 100 %

The following are the prizes to be given:

1ST PRIZE CERTIFICATE AND P 10,000.00
2ND PRIZE CERTIFICATE AND P 5,000.00
3RD PRIZE CERTIFICATE AND P 3,000.00
Certificates of participation will be issued to all contestants.
