Inventions in health and environment preservation named in the newly revitalized BPI-DOST Innovation Awards

Young Filipino innovators from all-over the country display their wits and creativity through their inventions presented in the first-ever BPI-DOST Innovation Awards 2022 held on October 28, 2022 at the Holiday Inn, Makati City.
The Department of Science and Technology – Science Education Institute (DOST-SEI), in partnership with the BPI Foundation Inc., has named the top three inventions that aim to help solve pressing issues on immunization, environment, and health. These projects emerged as winners of the new BPI-DOST Innovation Awards, formerly known as the BPI Science Awards.

Innovation is the way to the future and science and mathematics teachers are standing up to the challenge.
The Department of Science and Technology – Science Education Institute recently awarded the most innovative teaching and learning resources for science and mathematics during the awarding ceremony of the 3rd Innobox at the Philippine International Convention Center on October 26, 2022.
This year’s Innobox theme, “STEM Resources for Remote Learning”, aims to recognize teaching and learning innovations that best respond to the challenges and opportunities of the changing education landscape and to emphasize the interconnectedness of various STEM disciplines. The 3rd Innobox had two main categories where teachers from the elementary and secondary levels can join. The Teaching and Learning Devices and Materials category encompasses resources that are originally designed, constructed, and assembled into a set pr unit by the project implementer while the Digital Tool category lists innovations that use original software developed by the proponent(s).
DOST-SEI, QUT sign pact for STEM teachers’ scholarships in Australia

Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) education in the Philippines gets a much-needed boost as 28 STEM teachers obtained full scholarships for postgraduate studies in Australia.
This is the highlight of the International Cooperation Agreement (ICA) signing between the Department of Science and Technology-Science Education Institute (DOST-SEI) and Queensland University of Technology (QUT), held on October 21, 2022, at the Philippine International Convention Center in Pasay City.
