396 third year students pass the DOST-SEI JLSS Exam

A total of 396 qualifiers who are enrolled in various science and technology degree programs are set to enjoy the benefits of the 2019 Junior Level Science Scholarships (JLSS) starting the First Semester of AY 2019-2020.
Hundreds of ongoing third year college students will be recipients of the premier science scholarship as the Department of Science and Technology - Science Education Institute (DOST-SEI) announces the passers of the JLSS Examination administered nationwide on 02 June 2019.
Qualifiers to the program will receive tuition subsidy, monthly stipend, book allowance, among others for two to three years under the scholarship.
The JLSS is a scholarship program under the Republic Act (R.A.) No. 2067 or the Merit Scholarship, R.A. No. 7687 or the “S&T Scholarship Act of 1994,” and the R.A. No. 10612 or the “Fast-Tracked S&T Scholarship Act of 2013.”

LUZON, VISAYAS, MINDANAO REPRESENT. The 3rd imake.wemake Youth Innovation Prize winners surprisingly came from Luzon (Ramon Magsaysay High School-Cubao), Visayas (Pavia National High School), and Mindanao (New Era University Integrated School-General Santos City). Fifteen senior high school teams joined the country’s scientists and engineers in creating technology innovations for Filipino communities.
Their works, showcased at the 3rd imake.wemake: create. innovate. collaborate competition of the Department of Science and Technology – Science Education Institute (DOST-SEI) and C&E Publishing, Inc., seek solutions to pressing societal and community issues in food safety, health, education, disaster mitigation, agriculture, and environment.
In the two-day final project presentation and awarding ceremony at the Crimson Hotel in Muntinlupa City last December 2-3, 2019, the teams from Ramon Magsaysay High School-Cubao, Pavia National High School, and New Era University Integrated School-General Santos City emerged as victors, besting twelve other finalists in the competition. They were awarded the Youth Innovation Prize and P100,000 cash each by DOST Undersecretary for S&T Services Dr. Renato Solidum, Jr., DOST-SEI Deputy Director Albert Mariño, and C&E Publishing, Inc. Chief Operations Officer Mr. John Emyl Eugenio.
